Hana is a long time activist and has been involved in local politics for the past 15 years, either as a keen observer or an active participant. Recently, she has participated in the Join Together Alberta initiative and rally, and opposed the closures of the inner city Public schools. She ran in Edmonton municipal elections in 2007 in Ward 4.
Hana’s lengthy career as a Human Resources Consultant for the federal government has provided her with skills in communicating, mediating, team building, negotiating and collaboration, all skills that will make her strong, effective city councilor.
As committed volunteer, Hana has worked with groups such as the Alberta Women's Shelter, Big Sisters and Match International. She is a continuous supporter of Legal Education and Action Foundation (LEAF) Edmonton and LEAF National. She is an active member of her neighbourhood and in her community. Hana currently serves on the Board of Directors of Edmonton Brain Injury Relearning Society (EBIRS).
Hana is dedicated to protecting the environment and supports Smart Growth initiatives for our city particularly in the areas of housing, public transit, sustainability and affordability.
Hana is the mother of four grown children and has three grandchildren.
