| Meet Hana
|
As a single mother Hana raised her family in the Riverdale neighbourhood. Hana’s lengthy career as a Human Resources Consultant for the federal government has provided her with skills in communicating, mediating, team building, negotiating, collaboration, all skills that will serve her well as a city councillor.
She has been a committed volunteer (Alberta Women's Shelter, Big Sisters and Match International) and continuous supporter of Legal Education and Action Foundation (LEAF) Edmonton and LEAF National. She is an active member in her community and neighbourhood.
Hana is dedicated to protecting the environment and supports Smart Growth* initiatives for our city particularly in the areas of housing, public transit and parks, recreation and culture.
*Smart Growth is an urban planning and transportation theory that concentrates growth in the center of a city to avoid urban sprawl; and advocates compact, transit-oriented, walkable, bicycle-friendly land use, including mixed-use development with a range of housing choices.
Smart Growth values long-range, regional considerations of sustainability over a short-term focus. Its goals are to achieve a unique sense of community and place; expand the range of transportation, employment and housing choices; equitably distribute the costs and benefits of development; preserve and enhance natural and cultural resources; and promote public health. |
